We asked TypeSafe’s Jev to apply Conway’s B3/S23 rule to every possible 3 × 3 neighborhood. The 512 recorded answers become a deterministic rule table. The model is not being called during playback.

This is one recording of Jev 1.13.0, not a general model benchmark. The controls simplify the task. Changing the representation does not, on its own, establish why the model answered differently.
Next investigation: repair specific families of incorrect transitions and measure which structures disappear. Those results are still in progress.
